DIFC’s new employment law goes into effect

UAE - Mubasher: The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the leading financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA), announced that the new employment law No. 2 of 2019 will come into force on Wednesday, 28 August 2019.

The new DIFC employment law was previously enacted by the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 30 May 2019, according to a press release.

“The newly-enacted law compliments the DIFC’s commitment to international best practice, with the Employment Law addressing key issues such as paternity leave, sick pay and end-of-service settlements,” the release highlighted.
