DMCA’s marine driving licensing sees record growth in 2018

UAE – Mubasher: Dubai Maritime City Authority (DMCA) posted an 18% year-on-year increase in marine driving licences in the full-year 2018, according to a statement on Monday.

This record growth reflects the high confidence placed by the international community on Dubai on the back of its safe, renewable, competitive, sustainable and attractive marine environment, the statement added.

DMCA attributed the increase in the number of licences to its nonstop efforts to upgrade maritime licensing services as an integrated regulatory framework in a bid to ensure the integration of maritime safety, safe navigation and operational efficiencies along the coast of the emirate.

“We affirm our commitment towards ensuring smooth maritime licensing procedures, which serves as a key element in ensuring the strategic management of maritime operations--in line with the highest standards of occupational safety, best environmental practices and local and international decisions,” Amer Ali, executive director of DMCA, commented.
