DP Wrorld Group considers establishing dry port near Cairo

Cairo – Mubasher: DP Wrorld Group is looking forward to establish a dry port near Cairo, which will include a logistic area, according to a statement published by the ministry of trade.

Sultan Bin Sulayem, the Group's chairman and CEO, said that a dry port should reduce traffic jams in the capital, with a logistics area to unload containers, which will prevent huge trucks from driving in the city.

Bin Sulayem added that DP World seeks establishing a number of free zones in Egypt to act as logistic areas for the near countries.

Egypt's Minister of Industry and Trade, Tarek Kabil, said that the ministry discussed with the group the ways of expanding its investments in Egypt in the coming period through a number of projects in the field of marine and dry ports and also in establishing free zones.

A technical delegation from DP World will visit Egypt soon to discuss the cooperation opportunities in the field of developing the infrastructure and the electronic linkage of the customs ports.
