Dubai – Mubasher: Drake and Scull International (DSI) on Tuesday revealed that its wholly-owned subsidiaries German Passavant Energy & Environment and Saudi Aziz Company for Contracting & Industrial Investment won an AED 268 million ($72.94 million) contract, according to a statement.
In accordance to the contract, one of the subsidiaries will establish a sewage treatment station in south Dhahran in Saudi Arabia.
The contract was granted to the consortium for three years by the National Water Company (NWC), DSI said.
Regarding the terms of the contract, the design and construction operations will be implemented within two years, while operations and maintenance will be completed during the last year.
Passavant Energy & Environment's work includes the design, procurement, and supply of equipment, in addition to the installation, supervision, and running operations related to electromechanical works for the wastewater treatment station.
The sewage treatment station in Khobar will contribute to the treatment of 70,000 cubic metres of water received daily from different areas in Dhahran, DSI said, noting that water will be collected and transmitted through special pipelines to be delivered at certain points under specific conditions.
DSI had contracted with ILF-Tecon & Partners Engineering, the Austrian engineering and consulting company, to provide consulting services for this project, the firm added.
