Mubasher: Drake & Scull Engineering (DSE), a subsidiary of Drake & Scull International (DSI), has been commissioned to deliver mechanical and lighting works for a mixed-use residential and commercial tower in Abu Dhabi as well as two district cooling plants (DCP) in Dubai for a combined contract amounting to AED 131 million.
Raising the value of total project awards to AED 2.4 billion, these project wins sustain DSE’s momentum of securing prestigious projects across the region in 2015, according to a statement issued on DFM.
The first agreement states that DSE will supply and install heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC). It also involves the provision of building management; firefighting; water supply and drainage systems and lighting fixtures for the project in Abu Dhabi.
The statement clarified that work on the project has already begun, with an estimated handover scheduled for 2018.
Meanwhile, the second agreement states that DSE will supply, install, test and commission the mechanical, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical services of the two plants in Dubai.
“The two district cooling plants have been designed to offer a combined 6,750 Tons of Refrigeration. DSE’s work on both projects will commence in January 2016 with a scheduled handover during Q4 2016,” noted DSI.
The company’s backlog stood at AED 12.35 billion by the end of September, as DSE has secured over AED 2.4 billion worth of projects year to date across the UAE, Oman, and Kuwait, said managing director of Ahmad Al Naser.
“The twin DCP project wins in Dubai reflect the high confidence our clients have reposed in our DCP capabilities, especially in the UAE where we have established our DCP credentials through our work on many prominent developments such as the Jumeirah Beach Residences, Meydan Nad Al Sheba, Dubai Motor City, and Dubai Festival City,” added Al Naser.
