Dubai-Mubasher: Emirates District Cooling (Emicool) awarded a AED 120 million contract to Drake and Scull International (DSI), according to a bourse statement.
Under the contract, DSI will carry out the establishment of a cooling network in Dubai Sports City (DSC).
Emicool is a joint venture between Dubai Investments and Union Properties.
The new project will reduce energy consumption by 173 megawatt/hour (MW/h) annually, as well as reducing the carbon footprint.
MHPM Driver will manage the project which is expected to be completed by 2018.
Emicool plans to increase its production capacity to 500,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) by 2020 to meet growing demand for district cooling services across the UAE and region.
DSI declined 1.5% to AED 0.53 after trading 5.8 million shares by 11:40am UAE time, with a turnover of AED 3.12 million.
