DUCAB to launch aluminium plant before end-2016

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: DUCAB Cable Manufacturing Company plans to open its aluminium plant before the end of 2016, with total investments of $220 million, the company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Mutawa, said.

On the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) on Monday, Al Mutawa said that the new plant will start with a total production capacity of 35,000 tons per year, increasing to 50,000 tons per year in the upcoming years.

Al Mutawa noted that DUCAB has managed to enter six new markets this year, including Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Mauritius, Nigeria, Madagascar and Algeria, asserting that the company will continue its global expansion as it currently exports to 40 countries across the world.

DUCAB operates in Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Nigeria and UK.

Al Mutawa said that DUCAB has finished supplying power transmission cables for the first phase of Barakah nuclear power plant and plans to feed the next expansion phase.
