Dubai-Mubasher: Damac Properties is currently conducting negotiations with a number of Chinese companies that are specialised in the development of 3D printed multi-storey buildings, according to the company’s managing director Ziad El Chaar.
Damac recently received a technical offer from a Chinese company to 3D print first multi-storey building within 24 hours in the UAE, El Chaar added on the sidelines of a ceremony held on Monday.
The 3D printing technology will save around 50% of the construction costs, managing director explained, adding that, it will reduce labour by 50-80%.
This technology will redefine productivity because the time needed for 3D printing of buildings and products will be 10% of the time taken in traditional techniques, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, previously noted.
Dubai targets to 3D print 25% of its buildings by 2030, according to a previous statement.
