Riyadh – Mubasher: Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications and Information Technology Company, wholly-owned by Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), continues to support the digital infrastructure of Saudi Arabia’s cities and governorates in a bid to enable communication and internet services providers to offer ultra-fast broadband services to end-users.
Dawiyat has installed 25,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables, connecting more than 531,000 homes with the network across nine regions, including Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah Al-Munawarah, Aseer, Hail, Al Jouf, and Al Qassim, according to a statement on Sunday.
The efforts come as part of the expansion plan to enhance digital infrastructure and are one part of the initiatives of the National Transformation Programme 2020 aimed at developing the communication and information technology (ICT) sector and providing ultra-fast broadband services nationwide.
Noteworthy to mention, Dawiyat has fibre optics network spanning over 83,000 kilometres across various areas in the Gulf country.
