Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 2.33 billion in customs duties, taxes, and other charges at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports during May.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports reached EGP 509.35 million during the fifth month of 2020, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.
Moreover, value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on these goods amounted to EGP 1.82 billion during the month, the statement showed.
The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, corn, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, yarn, cars, spare parts, mobile phone accessories, and toys.
