Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 2.736 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports during August 2020.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Dekheila and Ain Sokhna ports totalled EGP 599.318 million in August, according to a statement on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the two ports amounted to EGP 2.136 billion.
The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, corn, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, yarn, cars spare parts, and mobile accessories.
According to the statement, the two ports exported goods that include, marble, sand, phosphate, fibres, petroleum materials, furniture, juices, ready-made garments, and herbs, at a total value of EGP 4.311 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods registered EGP 4.397 million.
