Delivery for March loading hits 27.3m barrels -DME

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: The Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME) hit new record for physical delivery volumes at 27.3 million barrels for March loading in 2016, compared to 22.5 million barrels in March 2015, according to a set of records announced by DME for the month of January 2016.

The exchange’s traded volumes also grew 17% year-on-year amid strong interest from global commercial and financial firms in the DME Oman contract.

“Today’s turbulent markets confirm the need for a regulated exchange that offers risk management and hedging solutions in this part of the world,” said DME Managing Director Owain Johnson.
