UAE - Mubasher: Digital DEWA, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), has partnered with Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (du) to launch the region's first industrial private 5G slicing through 5G stand-alone (SA) technology.
Under the partnership, Digital DEWA’s InfraX, a subsidiary specialised in ICT services, will become the first in the region to offer the utility industry private 5G slicing driven via edge computing, enabling DEWA to improve the efficiency of businesses, according to a press release on Tuesday.
