DuPont Water Solutions forays into Saudi Arabia

Mubasher: DuPont Water Solutions on Tuesday announced the opening of a reverse osmosis (RO) production plant in Saudi Arabia at Jubail Industrial City II.

Set to start the official operation at the beginning of 2019, the new factory will manufacture membrane technology and enhance production capabilities in Sadara Chemical Company complex, the US-based firm said in a statement.

This facility marks the first expansion by the firm outside the US.

“This new production line is providing game-changing innovation to help municipalities, businesses and people thrive by enabling sustainable access to clean, high-quality water,” CEO for the specialty products division at DowDuPont Marc Doyle stated.

The new plant will also supply, manufacture, and distribute FILMTEC™ Reverse Osmosis Elements to the Saudi market, the statement noted.

“The plant’s close proximity to customers allows for more direct access to essential, game-changing components,” HP Nanda, global vice president and general manager, DuPont Water Solutions indicated.

The cost of the plant was not disclosed.
