Dubai, Latin America non-oil trade hits $4bn in 9M

Dubai – Mubasher: Non-oil trade between Dubai and Latin American countries registered $4 billion in the first nine months of 2017, Dubai Chamber’s chairman Majid Saif Al Ghurair stated on Tuesday.

The number of Latin America-based companies listed in Dubai Chamber soared 158% year-on-year to 405 in 2017, Dubai Chamber’s president and CEO Hamad Buamim revealed.

Listed Latin American firms include 101 Brazilians, 88 Panamanians, 55 Belizeans, 50 Venezuelans, and 36 Argentinians, Buamim added.

Brazil led Dubai’s trade partners in the first three quarters of 2017, as non-oil trade between Dubai and Brazil recorded AED 5.3 billion in the same period, the top official said.
