Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai International Airport registered a growth of 1.9% in the number of passengers to 6.85 million in May 2017 compared to the same month in 2016, according to a recent report.
The report noted that about 36.97 million passengers used the airport from the beginning of 2017 until May, up 6.7% from 34.6 million in the same period a year earlier.
Freight volumes at the airport rose 2.6% to 226,916 tonnes in May from a year earlier, the report added.
“Considering that we’ve had some record breaking months earlier in the year, including the rush of travellers during the summer holiday and Eid break last week, we are looking forward to robust growth in the first half,” CEO of Dubai Airports Paul Griffiths said.
