Dubai Airports eyes 89m travelers in 2017

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Airports expects travellers through the airport to increase to 89 million by the end of 2017, according to a new report.

The authority also expects travellers via the Dubai Airport and Dubai World Central (DWC) to reach a combined 143 million travellers by 2020.

We constantly seek to raise the level of Dubai Airports to provide services that meet Dubai’s reputation, commented Majid Sultan Al Joker, VP of operations at Dubai Airports, according to the statement.

These expectations are in line with the Dubai Vision for 2017-2021, which will make the UAE among the world’s top countries in terms of air and land travel, the report said.

Dubai Airports is targeting raising the stake of air travel to AED 195 billion by 2021, to represent 37.5% of the emirate’s gross domestic product (GDP) as well as provide around 745,000 jobs.
