Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Airports Company is expected to receive around 22.4 million passengers during the summer season, Emarat Al Youm newspaper reported on Wednesday, citing forecasts by Dubai Airports’ senior vice president of assurance and control authorities Majid Al Joker.
The summer season in question spans from July to September.
It is likely that the number of travellers passing through the Dubai airport will reach 90 million in 2017, Al Joker told Emarat Al Youm, noting that the airport saw 43.5 million passengers in the first six months of the year, up 6.3% from 40.5 million in the year-ago period.
India registered the highest number of travellers through Dubai airports in H1-17 with 5.94 million travellers, while Saudi Arabia came in second with 3.492 million, and the UK came in third with 3.06 million.
