Mubasher: Dubai’s consumer price index (CPI) inflation rate rose 2.36% year-on-year in September 2016, according to a report by Dubai Statistics Center.
The CPI growth is mainly attributed to an increase in the “education”, and “clothing and footwear” groups by 7.17% 5.68% respectively. In addition, the “housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels” group went up 4.59%.
The “miscellaneous goods and services” prices advanced 3.35%, while those of “health” levelled up 31.8%.
The CPI rose 0.15% month-on-month in September 2016, while it went up 2.60% year-on-year in Q3-16.
Higher year-on-year inflation in Q3-16 resulted from a growth in the "education" group by 7.22%.
The “clothing and footwear”, and “housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel” groups climbed 5.86% and 4.65% respectively.
