Dubai - Mubasher: The total value of non-oil trade in the first nine months in 2017 between Dubai and Canada reached AED 5 billion, according to the director of Dubai Customs, Ahmed Mahboob Musabih.
Imports amounted to AED 4.4 billion, followed by re-exports with AED 361 million and exports with AED 180.6 million, added during a meeting with the Consul-General of Canada in Dubai, Emmanuel Kamarianakis.
The two discussed means of boosting cooperation between Canada and Dubai especially in bilateral trade and customs business, as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM).
“Canada is an important trade partner to Dubai. Enhancing trade ties with our partners will help them receive the best customs facilitations which will add great value to their business,” Musabih added.
“150 Canadian companies have activities in the UAE, and we work with them to keep them involved in developmental efforts to help them benefit from our product and service offerings, the director further noted.
