UAE - Mubasher: The exports of the member companies at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Africa rose by 20% month-on-month (MoM) to AED 2.94 billion ($800 million) in June.
The member companies' exports and re-exports to Sub-Saharan Africa and East Africa recorded AED 883 million ($240 million) and AED 508.3 million ($138.3 million), respectively, in June, according to a press release on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the exports to West Africa and Central Africa reached AED 249.5 million ($67.9 million) and AED 92 million ($25 million), respectively.
The companies' exports to North Africa represented two-thirds of the total value of their exports to Africa with AED 2.05 billion ($558 million), followed by Sub-Saharan Africa.
The value of members’ exports to Central Africa witnessed the biggest MoM increase with 48%, followed by North Africa with 25%.
At the country level, Angola was Dubai’s largest export partner in the Central Africa sub-region with AED 33 million worth of members’ exports in June.
