Dubai Duty Free realises $2bn sales target

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Duty Free (DDT) has announced the achievement of the targeted AED 7.3 billion ($2 billion) sales early on Saturday.

The major target was achieved after Paul and Annelise Christensen, a retired Danish couple, bought an AED 2,000 Nikon D5300 SLR Camera.

“We have been tracking the sales figures hour by hour over the past couple of days and it is fantastic to have achieved this figure before the end of the year,” DDT’s executive vice chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin commented.

The Danish couple has received a gift card worth of $2,000 from the DDT.

“My wife wanted to purchase gold and with this $2,000 gift card she can buy all the gold that she wants,” Paul Christensen said.
