Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Maritime Summit 2018 kicked off on Sunday, 28 October, bringing together the global maritime leaders.
Held under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktou, Crown Prince of Dubai, the Dubai Maritime Summit comes as part of the Emirates Marine Week 2018, which lasts until 1 November.
The one-day event is aimed at enhancing communications amongst global maritime leaders and executives and exploring the sector’s best practices based on joint efforts and peer exchange.
It further provides veritable platform for nascent companies operating in the maritime sector in Dubai, which further consolidate its position on the global maritime map.
“Dubai Maritime Summit is an opportunity to bridge communication gaps among pioneers in the global maritime sector,” Esben Poulsson, the chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping, commented.
In July 2018, the emirate of Dubai was named as one of the world's top five shipping hub, according to the International Shipping Centre Development Index (ISCD)
