UAE – Mubasher: Dubai Municipality and Huawei, a leading multinational technology company based in China, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to achieve mutual strategic objectives, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
Under the MoU, Huawei will help in developing the Dubai Municipality’s digital capabilities by introducing unique smart services in line with the latest innovative technologies within the field of information and communications technology (ICT).
Through this partnership, both parties will initiate an approach to carry out the ambitions of the Smart Dubai initiative, launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.
The two parties will work jointly to set up the framework for launching future smart initiatives and to develop innovative solutions to execute the latest technological advances, according to WAM.
Moreover, Dubai Municipality and Huawei will launch a pilot programme with the aim to contribute to the development of breakthrough projects.
Both parties will also develop a smart centre powered by Huawei’s Wi-Fi 6 technology in line with the UAE Government’s commitment to be one of the leading nations in the world.

Additionally, artificial intelligence (AI) solutions will be developed to allow Dubai Municipality to deliver a premium automated experience to Dubai residents.
Huawei will also provide the municipality with sophisticated solutions for Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, using integrated intelligence and next-generation Wi-Fi 6 solutions.
