Mubasher: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has inaugurated on Wednesday the second phase of the Dubai Water Canal.
The 12-kilometre waterway project, which is valued at AED 3.7 billion, connects Dubai Creek with the Arabian Gulf, according to Government of Dubai Media Office.
The second phase costing AED 2.7 billion extends 3.2 km and features 6.4 km of waterfront.
The development embraces the longest promenade in the UAE, spanning 12 km, featuring water homes, floating restaurants, retail outlets and five palm tree-lined marinas.
