Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai welcomed more than 14.2 million visitors in 2015, a growth of 7.5% compared to figures in 2014, according a report released by Dubai’s Department Of Tourism And Commerce Marketing.
The GCC countries represented the highest share of visitor volumes for 2015, with a total of 3.3 million, a rise of 12.8% compared to figures from 2014.
India was the emirate's number top market by bringing in over 1.6 million tourists, followed by Saudi Arabia with 1.54 million visitors.
Dubai's tourism sector aims to receive 20 million visitors annually by 2020, although 2015 was afflicted by macro-economic uncertainties and turbulent geo-political climate in the second half.
The emirate was positioned us as the fourth most visited city in the world.
