Mubasher: Business Confidence Index (BCI) in Dubai showed improvement during the fourth quarter of 2016 over the same period in 2015, according to survey results from the latest quarterly BCI of the Department of Economic Development (DED).
BCI scored 121.0 points during Q4-16 when compared to 116.1 points recorded during Q4-.15, the survey showed, adding that businesses remained confident about the first quarter of 2017.
"Dubai’s AED 47.3 billion budget for 2017 that, inter alia, aims to boost infrastructure spending and create more than 3,500 new jobs in line with the Dubai Plan 2021, together with growing public and private sector activity leading to the Expo Dubai 2020 have combined to boost business expectations regarding levels of employment and volumes of sales and profits,” assistant director-general for economic policies in DED, Khalid Al Kassim, said.
