Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Municipality (DM) announced finishing around 82% of construction works of Mohammed Bin Rashid (MBR) Library project in the Jaddaf area of Dubai Creek.
Dawoud Al Hajiri, direct manager of Dubai Municipality (DM), said that the project is “going on in full swing”, with remaining works set to be completed in line with “the highest and most efficient standards”, according to Construction Week Online.

The project’s total cost amounted to AED 1 billion ($272.3 million), and its interior and decorations are expected to be completed by the end of 2018.
“[MBR] Library is one of the most important projects that will contribute to the promotion of Dubai's cultural and literary status, which will enrich the cultural stock and will be one of the new cultural and tourism destinations in Dubai,” Al Hajiri commented.

The project’s main building consists of a basement, a ground floor, and seven floors containing a central warehouse for books.
The building also contains a laboratory for preserving books, collecting and processing materials, and facilities for digital conversion of books.

In October 2016, ASGC started the construction works of MBR Library.
