Dubai equities see gains at open

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) opened at a rise on Sunday, backed by the positive performance of leading stocks, especially Emaar Properties and Dubai Islamic Bank, in addition to Arabtec Holding, Dubai Investments and du.

The general index gained 3.2% to reach 2,948.3 points by 10:55am UAE time.

The UAE markets are likely to continue its speculative trend this week as portfolio investors are looking to promote their investments so as to end the month stronger at the time that oil and global markets are on the rise, analysts earlier told Mubasher.

The telecom sector increased 5.77%, followed by the investment, real estate and banks sectors at 3.87%, 3.63% and 2.61% in a row.

Shuaa Capital topped gainers after adding 8.53%, followed by du which jumped to AED 5.50. Dubai Islamic Bank, Emaar Properties, Dubai Investments and Arabtec Holding grew 4.37%, 4.09%, 3.6% and 2.52% in a row.

Trading volume reach 270.3 million shares after closing 3,300 transactions, with turnover AED 344 million.
