Dubai – Mubasher: The government of Dubai has hired HSBC to raise $3 billion (AED 11 billion) for financing the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport, Emirates News Agency (QAM) reported on Tuesday.
The expansion will raise the capacity of Dubai International Airport and Al Maktoum International Airport to serve 146 million passengers per year by 2025.
Dubai International Airport is the world’s largest international airport as its total capacity 78 million passengers in 2015, with an average compound annual growth rate of 13% since 2000.
Al Maktoum International Airport is set to become Dubai’s primary airport and the headquarters of Emirates Airline as of 2025.
