Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Arena, which is set to be the largest all-purpose, air-conditioned indoor arena in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), will be officially opened to the public in April 2019, according to the media office of Dubai’s government.
The arena will have the capacity to host 17,000 guests over the year for a variety of events including concerts and festivals.
Spanning an area of 1 million square metres, the arena will also feature conferences and exhibitions, as well as sporting events such as basketball, boxing, volleyball, and ice hockey.
The arena's active-lit façade and paneled structure have now been completed and installed, Meraas said in November.
It added that external infrastructure and landscaping works were underway.
It is worth noting that Meraas and its partners started the project in 2016 to be an international entertainment city.
