Dubai hits 1,300/day flight record

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai achieved a record number of flights received through its Dubai airports reaching 1,300 flights per day, according to CNBC Arabia.

The emirate seeks to be one of the densest aviation destinations; however, the sector suffers many challenges, mainly due to falling oil prices, which affected the companies’ profits and reduced their investments in the sector.

Dubai will host the fifth tournament of the World Aviation Safety Summit (WASS) in the period between 11 and 12 April.

The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), which will take part in the summit, reported a 7.3% increase in passenger traffic through UAE’s airports to reach 33.12 million passengers during the first quarter of 2017.

Dubai airports predicted that the number of passengers using the emirate’s airport will reach 89 million by the end of 2017.
