Dubai – Mubasher: Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC), on Wednesday announced the official launching of the Dubai Maritime Virtual Cluster (DMVC).
The DMVC is an interactive smart platform that provides information about the maritime services in Dubai, the PCFC said in a press release.
The significance of this initiative stems from its role in enhancing the maritime sector ability to attract foreign investments, Bin Sulayem said, noting that it will help realising the objectives of Dubai Plan 2021.
The DMVC will facilitate providing different services to the key players in the sector, which includes 5,500 firms, offering 76,000 job opportunities, contributing 7% of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Dubai.
