Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai saw a growth by 4% in the total volume of non-oil foreign trade commodities to reach AED 319 million ($86.82 billion) during the first quarter of 2016 from AED 322.15 billion in the prior-year period.
Imports contributed AED 196 billion and exports AED 36 billion, according to statistics released by Dubai Customs.
Mobile phones topped the list of high-value commodities in Dubai’s foreign trade with AED 43 billion worth of trade in Q1-16, followed by gold with AED 32 billion.
China was Dubai’s top trading partner with AED 39 billion in Q1-16, while Saudi Arabia continued to be Dubai’s top GCC and Arab trading partner with AED 14 billion.
