Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai has been ranked among the world’s top 10 most expensive cities to spend New Year's Eve, a recent survey showed.
The emirate came in at third place among cities like Miami and Sydney and several other US cities, which dominated the list.
Hotel guests looking to spend a night in Dubai on New Year's Eve would need to pay an average of $272 per night, up 234% from normal prices in January, recent data released by Cheaphotels.org indicated.
Miami Beach, however, nabbed the top spot with $281 per night and $843 per three nights, whereas Sydney, Australia, came in the second place with $274 a night, followed by US destinations such as New Orleans, New York City, and Nashville, which recorded $269, $224 and $216 per night, respectively.
Cheaphotels.org's survey compared prices in 50 cities across the world.
On the other hand, Bogota, Columbia, was among the world’s most affordable destinations to the spend New Year's Eve at a meagre $27 per night.
Other destinations that are lighter on travellers' wallets include: Buenos Aires, Kuala Lumpur, Doha, and Hanoi, where visitors can spend less than $50 per night.
