UAE – Mubasher: The number of Dubai’s international overnight visitors grew 4.3% year-on-year to 12.08 million during the first three months of 2019, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday.

Indians remain on top among Dubai’s visitors, as the number of visitors from the Asian country reached 1.39 million from January to September 2019.

In the GCC, Saudi Arabians ranked first among Dubai’s visitors after 1.25 million Saudis visited the emirate in the January-September period, up 2% YoY.

"With Dubai cementing its ranking as the fourth most visited city in the world, the positive growth achieved in the first three quarters this year is exemplary of the unfailing support and confidence of our leadership,” Dubai Tourism’s director general Helal Saeed Almarri commented.

UK citizens remained Dubai’s third top visitors, with a total of 851,000 visitors, while Omanis raked fourth and Chinese fifth with a total of 778,000 and 729,000 visitors, respectively.

“As we head into 2020, our efforts will remain focused on attracting new, first-time and repeat visitors from emerging, as well as established markets, to ensure that Dubai stays at the forefront of the world’s widely recommended travel destinations," Almarri said.
