UAE – Mubasher: vice president and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has approved AED 2 billion Dubai-Al Ain Road project.
The project will include increasing the number of lanes in each direction from three to six over a 17 kilometres stretch.
It also comprises the construction of new bridges the creation of extra service roads, according to the National.
"It will serve several development projects on both sides of the Dubai-Al Ain Road such as Meydan, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubailand Residential Complex, Liwan and Dubai Design District,” director general of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) Mattar Al Tayer said.
Led by RTA, the Vehicle capacity of Dubai-Al Ain will be doubled to 12,000 per hour.
