Dubai ruler nods to AED 56.8bn budget for 2019

Dubai – Mubasher: UAE vice President and prime minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the emirate of Dubai’s public budget for the government sector for 2019, with total planned spending of AED 56.8 billion ($15.5 billion).

The Government of Dubai has maintained last year’s announced budget, which was the biggest in the emirate’s history.

The announcement was made came alongside Dubai’s incentive decisions for fiscal year 2018, which affected the revenues of some fees that were reduced to stimulate the emirate’s economic sector.

Although some infrastructure works at Dubai’s Expo 2020 site were completed, the FY19 budget allocated AED 9.2 billion ($2.50 billion) to infrastructure projects that are part of the widely-anticipated Expo.
