Dubai – Mubasher: Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, approved the award of two construction contracts worth AED 1.2 billion, WAM news agency reported.
The contracts are related to the construction of the 7th Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road, as well as Al Yalayis and Al Asayel roads.
As a result, the capacity of Al Yalayis Road will be raised to almost 10,000 vehicles per hour per direction.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will construct Al Asayel Road, which will extend for 5 kilometres to link with JAFZA, Jumeirah Islands, and Emirates Hills.
The total cost of the two roads is estimated at AED 792 million, while construction of the 7th Interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road will cost around AED 393 million.
