Dubai – Mubasher: The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Dubai declined by 1.2% in February 2020 on an annual basis, as shown by the data of the Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC) on Sunday.
The inflation rate recorded 105.79 points last month, compared with 107.08 points in February 2019.
The decline was driven by a decrease in prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups by a total of 5.21%, which led to a 2.21% decline in inflation, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported, citing the monthly report of DSC.
Prices of the clothing and footwear group went down by 3.21%, while prices of transportation and food and beverages increased by 5.11% and 2.38%, respectively.
On a monthly basis, the index decreased by 0.33% compared to its level last January at 106.15 points.
