UAE - Mubasher: The Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) and the flagship free zone of DP World, Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), announced they have signed a collaboration agreement.
Under the agreement, Jafza will offer warehousing solutions and logistic services to registered companies in the DMCC Free Zone in order to promote trading through Dubai, according to a press release.
Moreover, the member companies in DMCC will be exempt from registration and licensing fees related to the new services, the two companies revealed.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman and CEO of DMCC, said: “Under our agreement, DMCC member companies will gain access to all of JAFZA’s state-of-the-art warehousing and logistical services at no extra charge through a single point of contact.”
“This collaborative agreement provides a strong incentive for DMCC-based companies to leverage the facilities available at Jafza, while streamlining our business processes to support our customers,” Bin Sulayem added.
In 2017, Jafza and Jebel Ali Port contributed 33.4% of Dubai’s growth domestic product (GDP).
The DMCC had welcomed 1,868 new companies to its Free Zone in 2018, achieving a growth rate of 12% year-on-year.
