Dubai’s Egypt Property Show 2018 marks $110m sales

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt property show, held at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) in April, has concluded its 2018 exhibition with total sales of $110 million, recording a 100% hike as compared with last year’s sales.

The event, inaugurated by Egypt ambassador to the UAE Wael Gad and director general of Dubai Land Department (DLD) Sultan Butti bin Mejren, has brought together 21 of Egypt’s leading real estate developers, according to a press release on Wednesday.

These companies include Emaar Misr, Sixth of October for Development and Investment (SODIC), Palm Hills Development Co, Hyde Park, Madinet Nasr Housing and Development (MNHD), and City Edge, the press added.

Property developers showcased their projects across Egypt’s north coastal line and the new capital city during the three-day event.

Commenting on the exhibition, chairman of Al-Ahram Foundation and head of the Egyptian Journalist Syndicate Abdel Mohsen Salama said: “I believe that Egypt’s efforts in the past years have managed to restore the trust of the international community with regards to the viability of general investments in the country.”

Salama voiced his confidence that the North African nation will see "brighter opportunities" in the coming years.

The exhibition was attended by a huge number of GCC nationals and Egyptian expatriates in the UAE, in addition to famous figures and celebrities such as football player Mohamed Zidan and actress Elham Shahin, the press remarked.

The show aims at taking the real estate exhibition to other countries, starting with a three-week tour in the US and the UK next September, followed by a closing exhibition in Kuwait in December.

Egypt Property Show is projected to generate a total of $250 million in sales, the press noted.
