Dubai’s GDP hits AED 188bn in H1-15

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.6% or AED 8.342 billion to AED 188.32 billion at fixed prices in the first half of 2015, versus AED 179.98 billion in the same period of 2014, according to figures by Dubai Statistics Center.

In a report by the center, the GDP rise was attributed to the steady growth witnessed in various economic sectors.
The non-financial corporations sector climbed 4.8% from AED 162.932 billion in H1-14 to AED 170.696 billion in in H1-15, accounting for 90.6% of the emirate’s GDP to become the largest contributor.    

Meanwhile, the financial corporations sector was up by 12.6% year-on-year to AED 23.7 billion against AED 22.7 billion in H1-14.

The government services sector contributed 5.3% to the GDP, as it advanced 4.3% to AED 10, compared to AED 9.6 billion.

Imputed bank services came to AED 16.7 billion, 8.9% y/y of the total GDP, compared to AED 15.9 in 2014.
