Dubai – Mubasher: Road works leading to the Jewel of the Creek project, undertaken by Dubai International Real Estate and the emirate’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), have been 80% complete, chairman of RTA Mattar Al Tayer said.

The construction of road works and underpasses for the project, situated between Al Maktoum and the Floating Bridges, is planned for completion by the end of June, according to a statement.

Construction work involves establishing 1.4 kilometres of tunnels and 7 kilometres of roads, Al Tayer added.

“The ground and basement access points of the Jewel of the Creek project have been linked with Baniyas Street to the north, and Al Ittihad Street to the east through streets, tunnels, and slope roads leading to the basement parking of the project,” he revealed.

Additionally, an 81-metre footbridge crossing over Baniyas Street will be established by the fourth quarter of 2019, along with lighting works, in addition to protecting and shifting the current utility lines, he noted.

Spanning over 125,675 square metres, Jewel of the Creek includes a five-star hotel comprising 438 rooms, four residential towers with 756 serviced apartments, 20 restaurants, a man-made lake, and a waterfront promenade, and marina for 65 berths.

The project also comprises of three- and four-star hotels, with 405 and 403 rooms, respectively, the statement said.
