UAE – Mubasher: Novus Aviation Capital, a global aircraft leasing and financing company based in Dubai, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Vietnamese carrier Vietjet Air for the financing and leasing of 10 aircraft over the next 18 months for around $1.3 billion.
The agreement includes a mix of operating and finance leases and the ordered aircraft by Vietjet will be a mix of a single aisle, according to a press release.
The new deal has been signed after Vietjet received its fifth aircraft through Novus, an Airbus A321NEO, bringing its fleet to 68 aircraft at an average age of 2.8 years.
Vietjet currently operates around 400 flights a day, carrying over 80 million passengers to date, with 119 routes covering destinations across Vietnam and international destinations.
Hani Kuzbari, managing director at Novus Aviation, said: “With over 100 million people, a growing middle class, and an increasingly de-regulated aviation industry, Vietnam is one of the most interesting markets for our industry. Novus Aviation Capital is now in its 25th year and we are honoured to mark this milestone in our partnership with Vietjet, an airline with a bright future that continues to experience impressive growth.”
Kuzbari also noted that the MoU with Vietjet would rapidly boost the company’s growth and investments in promising markets.
