Phase 5, which includes the construction of bridges extending 2.6 kilometres and roads spanning about 3 kilometers, is scheduled to be completed in June 2019, the statement said.

Mattar Al Tayer, the director-general and chairman of the RTA, noted that two service roads will be added to facilitate the present traffic condition.

He added that the improvements will provide free turns and links, ensuring smooth traffic flow around the Expo site.

It is worth noting that the six-month Expo 2020 Dubai will be held on 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021 and is expected to welcome more than 25 million visitors.
