Dubai’s RTA to finalize a bridge project in January 2018

Dubai - Mubasher: Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Sunday that the bridge project, which is being implemented in partnership with Emaar Properties, will be completed and opened by January 2018.

The new bridge extends from Al Khail Road to Financial Centre Road and will help support the expansion of Dubai Mall to receive about 100 million visitors per year, according to Dubai’s RTA statement.

“The project encompasses the construction of a two-lane, one-way bridge extending 1,270m at a width of 11m to 15m, built on single columns crossing over the Dubai Water Canal,” said Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, Dubai’s RTA.

“The project works include lighting and infrastructure works, such as shifting the impacted utility services like water, electricity, irrigation, sewage, and telecommunication lines,” he added.

The new project will increase the road’s capacity to 4,500 cars per hour and it will serve many development projects because of its high efficiency, Al Tayer explained.
