Dubai – Mubasher: Smech Properties, a real estate firm owned by the UAE prime minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced that it has cancelled a plan for expansion in the Dubai ruler's Scottish estate.
The company had previously applied to expand Inverinate Estate in Wester Ross through establishing a nine-bed house and two lodges for his staff.
The real estate firm turned down its scheme due to transportation concerns raised by Transport Scotland and local residents about the impact of the plans on local roads.
It is worth noting that Sheikh Mohammed bought the estate more than 30 years ago.
In 2014, the Scottish local authority approved plans for a new 16-bedroom mansion, including a swimming pool and gym.
