Dubai – Mubasher: The consumer price index (CPI) in the emirate of Dubai rose by 1.32% year-on-year in June.
The prices in the transport segment increased by 6.87% last month, which pushed inflation rate up by 0.73 points, according to data released by the Dubai Statistics Centre (DSC).
The restaurants and hotel segment prices grew by 10.73% in June, pushing inflation rate by 0.42 points, while the prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 3.19% to increase inflation rate by 0.39 points, the DSC added.
Moreover, the prices in the Education and communication segments levelled up by 3.23% and 5.43%, respectively.
On the other hand, the prices of the housing services, water, electricity, gas, and fuel segment slid by 2.62%, and the prices of ready-made clothing and footwear fell by 3.34%.
On a monthly basis, the CPI in Dubai edged up by 0.18% in June as the prices of the transport segment rose by 3.95%, raising inflation rate by 0.43 points.
Meanwhile, the prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.10% month-on-month, adding 0.14 points to the emirate’s inflation.
