Dubai – Mubasher: The non-oil foreign trade of the Emirate of Dubai rose around 2% in 2017, registering AED 1.302 trillion ($354.4 billion), compared to AED 1.276 trillion ($347.4 billion) in 2016, according to an official statement.
Last year, re-exports surged 9% to AED 360 billion, while imports and exports in the emirate recorded AED 798 billion and AED 144 billion, respectively.
Foreign trade in free zones grew 5% to AED 434 billion, while direct trade reached AED 829 billion.
China topped Dubai’s trade partners in 2017, as their bilateral non-oil trade hit AED 176 billion.
India came second among Dubai’s trade partners with a total bilateral trade of AED 99 billion, followed by the US and Saudi Arabia – the emirate’s biggest trade partner in the Arab World – with a trade value of AED 85 billion and AEDE 58 billion, respectively.
